HAPPY BIRTHDAY WINSTON CHURCHILL

Celebrate Winston Churchill's Birthday With Our New Catalogue

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WINSTON CHURCHILL HAPPY BIRTHDAY WINSTON CHURCHILL

Where our previous catalogues celebrated Winston Churchill with trumpets -- a blast or two of the finest first editions for each Churchill work -- our new catalogue is all fireworks, a blazing skyful of rare and important editions that resoundingly illuminate the Churchill canon.

Ever wondered what the obscure Second Colonial Library edition of Churchill's first book, The Story of the Malakand Field Force, looked like? Well, neither did we, but it is still a fascinating and quite beautiful rarity to behold. The virtually unseen First Canadian Softcover edition of Ian Hamilton's March (absent from the otherwise definitive Cohen bibliography)? The London Times Book Club edition of The World Crisis? A Pre-Publication Proof copy of My Early Life? The extravagantly rare "Presentation" edition of Churchill's memoirs of The Second World War?

All are here, together with many singular prizes of Churchillian ephemera, including an 1898 letter from young Winston to his cousin in which he self-critiques (favorably, of course) one of his first-ever public speeches; a WWII wartime broadside from the Prime Minister soliciting donations of books for the soldiers; a signed Karsh "Angry Lion" portrait photograph; and a historic "Let Us Go Forward Together" WWII propaganda poster lettered in Arabic!

We also are delighted to invite you once again for Holiday Tea at Three, our annual tea dance, featuring Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks.

Saturday, December 16, from 3:00-6:00 PM.

In the lobby of the Park Avenue Plaza building.

55 East 52nd Street (between Park & Madison).

We hope to see you there.
